Stations of the Cross Lent 2026
Each Friday during Lent, the children gather for the Stations of the Cross, an important Catholic tradition. During this time, we reflect on the journey Jesus took during his Passion and remember the love and sacrifice shown through his suffering.
This week, children from Years 5 and 6 led the whole school in a thoughtful and reverent reflection of the Stations of the Cross. Each station was carefully acted out, helping everyone present to reflect on the solemn journey Jesus took on his way to the cross. Through their words and actions, they encouraged us to pause and think about Jesus’ suffering, as well as the hope and love at the heart of the Easter story.

Advent Service December 2025
The beautiful service brought our school community together to celebrate the story of the Nativity. Pupils from each class took part by acting out different parts of the Nativity story, alongside readings from the Gospel and thoughtful reflections on each scene.
Every child had carefully made their own Christingle, which they brought with them to the Advent service. At the beginning of the celebration, the Christingles were lit, creating a warm and meaningful moment as we reflected on the light of Christ during the season of Advent.

Pilgrimage to the Millennium Cross at Battersea Park

In joyful observance of the Jubilee Year, the school communities of St Mary’s RC Primary School, Battersea, and Sacred Heart Primary School, Battersea, united in faith to embark on a special pilgrimage to Battersea Park. Together, pupils and staff journeyed as pilgrims to the Millennium Cross—an emblem of Christ’s eternal love and a beacon of Christian witness in our local area. This act of pilgrimage served as a powerful expression of our shared devotion and a visible sign of our commitment to walking in the footsteps of Christ during this holy year. Along the way, the children raised their voices in song, offering hymns of praise and thanksgiving. Their joyful singing echoed the spirit of the Jubilee, proclaiming hope and renewal in the light of God’s mercy. In this moment of prayerful reflection and community, our young pilgrims gave beautiful witness to the Gospel message. This pilgrimage was a profound reminder that we are all on a journey of faith, called to be Pilgrims of Hope—steadfast in prayer, rich in compassion, and ever open to the grace of God.
